Mafalu Lotolua

Mafalu Lotolua is a Power Engineer by profession and has been working with the Power Industry for 28 years. He holds different position within the organization and since 2002 holds the position of General Manager.

Mr. Lotolua has extensive knowledge in the power industry and has involved in installing and commissioning of the outer islands power stations and the electrical network as well as installing high voltage switchgears and transformers for Funafuti Atoll in Tuvalu.

As the General Manager, Mr. Lotolua has been more involved in managing the power station and one of his key roles is to fulfill the target set out by the Government for Tuvalu for Tuvalu to become 100% renewable energy by 2020. To fulfill this target, Mr. Lotolua has been mostly involved to secure funding from the donor communities like the European Union (EU), New Zealand Government through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), United Abrabs Emirates (UAE), World Bank, Small Island Development States (SIDS) Dock to name a few.

Mr. Lotolua has been active participation in community activities and he has been the leader of the Niutao community on Funafuti for more than 5 years.
