Kerin Wood

My name is Kerin Wood and I am a volunteer with the Sustainable Island Project. I was born in Australia of Maltese parents. I am married, to Peter and we have two children.

In my early life I was fortunate to experience life in many remote locations around Australia which included Cocos Keeling Islands and Lord Howe Island. I have worked in Education for 40 years and my roles have been varied. I began my career as a primary school teacher and retired 2 years ago from my position as Senior Project Officer supporting innovative projects focusing on Indigenous education and histories and the integration of Information and Communication Technologies into learning and teaching programs. My interest in education continues as a casual consultant for a variety of educational projects. In the past 2 years I have had the opportunity to follow some of my interests including travel, tennis, singing and the VIEW association (Voice, Interest and Education of Women). Time spent with my grandchildren and parents is also valued.

I am looking forward to meeting all the participants in the Sustainable Island Project to share and learn.
