Dr Bart Los

Bart Los is Associate Professor in International and Business at the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Groningen, The Netherlands. He received his PhD from the University of Twente, The Netherlands, in 1999. His thesis addressed questions about the relationships between investments in technology, productivity, structural change and economic growth. These issues still characterize much of his academic work.

Bart is one of the coordinators of the World Input-Output Database project, financed by the European Commission within its 7th Framework programme. 11 European research institutes participate in this project, which runs from May 2009 till May 2012 and aims at producing a time series of world input-output tables and associated socio-economic and environmental accounts. Jointly with Manfred Lenzen, Bart is editor of Economic Systems Research, the journal of the International Input-Output Association.
